Sustainable Use

Sustainable Use for Future

Sustainable use, future function After the end of the Taichung International Flora Expo, most of the park facilities will be preserved and maintained. Circular ecology and a variety of technical skills will be used to carry out an ongoing combined eco-agricultural development. Through an inter-industry cooperation development model, the agricultural product value chain will be connected through a horizontal alliance and professional counseling, to effectively use rich resources such as local products, experience, knowledge and traditional culture in rural areas. In the hopes that the future of the Waipu Expo Site will adopt a compound business model that retains an educational purpose to expand the agricultural food/non-staple food production industry and the tourism industry.

Introduction to the Forest Expo Site

The Houli Forest Expo Site has kept the army base’s original roads and lush trees, forming a natural barrier to block off the outer world’s distractions to make the Expo Site a paradise within the city. Using the characteristics of the original forest, the multi-faceted exhibit has a “forest island” theme and uses low-impact architecture to combine topics such as carbon neutrality and maintenance of the environment. The exhibit allows visitors to see, hear, taste, smell and feel the art created by people and mother nature; the exhibit also promotes the importance of natural preservation, and convey a lifestyle of coexistence with nature. The Expo Site includes many temporary exhibit halls and corporate pavilions, and will disperse visitors within the various exhibit areas in response to the large amount of people visiting the Flora Expo. The traffic flow of the square will connect the entire exhibit area, and the following will be a description of the planning for key areas:
