Promoting Flora Expo Tourism, Taichung City Tourism Bureau head north and south to promote tourism

Taichung City will hold the 2018 International Taichung Flora Exposition, The City Tourism Bureau and the National Tourism Quality Assurance Association held two promotional events in Taipei and Kaohsiung, to introduce central Taiwan tourism products and to seek cooperation. Furthermore, the tourism bureau also hopes to sign a MOU between central Taiwan and southern Taiwan tourism alliance, to promote a “enter south, exit central and also enter central, exit south” model.

The tourism bureau recently visited 100 businesses in Taipei and Kaohsiung alongside 50 Taichung local businesses and introduced the local tourist specialties, products and packaging, marketing. The bureau also promoted the 2018 Flora Expo, inviting businesses to participate.

Director Chen noted, Taichung City has a local food trip event in Dajia river during July till October, and during September till November Taichung has the hot springs festival, the Taichung afternoon tea festival from September to October, the Taichung cycling gala in October, Flora City Arts Festival and the International Dance Festival in November as well as the Flower Carpet Festival and new year’s festival in December. In 2018 there will also be the Taichung Flora Expo, International East Asia Games, 2020 Orchid Festival, these events all serve to boost the cities tourism.

Executive Yuan Advisor, South Taiwan Tourism Alliance Director Fu-Nan Lin noted, Taichung City’s choice of cooperating with the alliance will help form a greater cooperation network to attract tourists, it is a wise decision. Many tourists utilize the International Airport in Kaohsiung as their priority entrance point and the Taichung International Airport as their second priority, so there are many options for tourists to plan around with this alliance, this will help tourists and businesses.
